Liškiava Monastery is a valuable architectural ensemble in the late Baroque style built by the Dominicans in the 17th century. The construction of the church and monastery was started in 1703 and finished in 1741.

Lake Veisiejai and Observation Tower. The Observation Tower of Veisiejai Regional Park was built in Kailiniai Village, in the north western part of Lake Snaigynas. The 15-meter-high tower offers vistas of the three lake islands on one side and the panorama of Veisiejai on the other side. The tower is structured to reflect a glass or whirlwind. The observation deck is built on a circle of slightly inclined columns and can be reached by climbing the curved staircase.
One of the most important castles of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania once stood on Merkinė Hillfort. It was built on a high and steep hill (about 30-meter-high from the southern and eastern sides) sometime around the second half of the 13th century or the 14th century. In the beginning of the 15th century, the castle became the most important military and strategic center in the battles with the Teutonic Order.
Merkinė Observation Tower, also known as the Pine Woods is a 26-meter-high tower established in Merkinė, on the right bank of the Neman River. The tower offers views of the Neman Regional Reserve Park, the confluence of the Neman and the Merkys, Pastraujas Island and Merkinė Bridge.
Marcinkonys is one of the largest villages in Lithuania which grew from a scout settlement. The village was first mentioned in historical sources back in 1637. The settlement expanded in the second half of the 19th century after the construction of Warsaw-Saint Petersburg Railway.
